You all forget that Tf2 takes place in the late 60’s, and boxers weren’t invented until the 70’s. Just sayin’.
MvM takes place in the future, maybe it’s during the 70’s and everyone was awarded with boxers.
Maybe. I dunno. :P What is history? What are Hanes?
Boxers have been around way before the 70s. You can even see them in old 1940s advertisements.
I still have three polishes form the season one line that I haven’t released. To be honest I only like one out of the three. My momentum was really stopped by how awful a Study in Pink ended up being.
After that things just got worse. I put my back out and it’s been out for ages. It’s been two months and it’s just now getting to the point where I can sit down for more than ten minutes.
Now I’m on summer break, which is nice, but I also don’t have any of my polish making supplies with me. The dream of selling them is very much out of my reach now.
What I decided I was going to do was make a list of polishes that were similar to the colors in the line. It won’t be the same as owning them in their special little bottles, but if you really crave the color you can have it now. If there is still a want and desire for the polishes after I get back to school in a few months than I will sell them on a small scale.
I realize some of the colors don’t have matches. In that case I can suggest a few polishes you can mix to get an approximate color.
I want to wrap up this needlessly long post by saying thank you to everybody who has been interested in my nail polishes. It’s really quite sweet and means a lot.
Another user named Metametics is making/made a Sherlock franken line, and it’s really just lovely. AND SOME OF IT IS FOR SALE. I would suggest taking a look at her stuff, because as I said it’s just gorgeous.
It actually was really interesting to go through and see how similar some of our ideas were without having known about each other. For example we used the same color scheme in her Mrs. Hudson and Sherlock polishes, and the same name for the Mrs. Hudson polish. I thought I was just weird for “feeling” these colors for certain characters while watching the show, but it’s nice to know I’m not alone.
Water Tribe, Fire Nation, Earth Kingdom, and Airbender
Though I’m considering changing ‘Airbender’ to ‘Air Nomads’ to keep it consistent? IDK IDK DECISIONS
High-functioning Sociopath, (Honey, you should see me in a) Crown, Not Your Housekeeper.
I haven’t updated in a few days. At first I was just doing other things and wearing non self made polishes. Then I thought “I have some free time I’ll put on that Study in Pink and take some photos.” A Study in Pink has destroyed itself pretty much. It’s simultaneously too thin and too thick. I can’t figure out how to fix it. I attempted to add some polish thinner and it didn’t really seem to do much. I have no idea what to do about it since I can’t make another bottle because all of my things aren’t here.
I think I know what the problem is. It’s the only polish made with a pigment in the whole collection, and it is the only polish giving me this big of a problem. I think the color is recreateable with other polishes so I can make another less fussy bottle at a later time.
As for now I’m going to see if I can do something, ANYTHING, with it. If not I might move on and go to the Blind Banker and take a photo of A Study in Pink at some later time. BLEURGH.
vonlipwig asked: Hello! I just wanted to pop in and say that I love your nail polishes; they're amazing! I keep looking through going 'ooh, I want that one, and that one, and that one...' How do you make them? (If you don't mind me asking).
Thank you so much!
I don’t mind at all divulging how I make/made them. I would just blurt out the exact recipe for them but I didn’t do that fantastic of a job at keeping track of measurements and ratios. I have remade some for friends and stuff so I can duplicate the process just fine but it’s more of a “add things until they look like that other thing” kind of deal.
Anyway they are a mix of other polishes, I mostly use China Glaze because it’s nice quality but fairly cheep but there are a few other brands mixed in there as well, eye shadows, I have only used ELF brand mineral shadow thus far, and pigments, only one uses a pigment and that’s A Study in Pink which I will probably swatch tomorrow. The cremes tend to be the polish blends, The Sitting Down Type, A Drugs Bust, and Not Your Housekeeper, while the shimmers are usually eye shadow polish mixes, Consulting Detective and Childish Feud. Oh, No You Won’t is also a polish blend but it didn’t fit into the creme or shimmer category. I hope that answers your question! :D
peacheshero asked: Hey, so I was going to post this on your blog, but the comment system needed an account so I'm just going to put it here: I would totally wear all of these, and if you sold them, I would buy them. They're all very cool, especially No You Won't. I love this blog, hope you continue through Season 2 and then on to other shows! (Until Season 3 ;D)
Thank you so much!
I will continue to do the other series. I already have a few ideas for them. I have been thinking about other shows and some video games to do polishes as well. I haven’t pinned down anything specific yet for other polish lines.
As for selling them, I would really like to. However, it’s not a possibility until at least April, if at all. I’m a student so I have limited space, however unlike most students I don’t have that limited of an income. I was thinking that I would do a giveaway of the polishes when I came out with the season 2 polishes, if they had gotten enough attention. Of course I’m not doing this for attention or anything, it just seems silly to have a giveaway where there are only like five contestants. Then after that maybe start selling them on a small scale via blog sales or etsy.
I shall keep everyone updated about what I intend to do with the line, and if they do go on sale I will try and contact you personally. But thank you for your interest and lovely comments!
